Three face trial for stabbing

? Three men charged in the stabbing of the Boston Celtics’ Paul Pierce at a nightclub nearly two years ago will go on trial this fall. At a pretrial hearing Wednesday, Suffolk Superior Court Judge Charles Spurlock scheduled jury selection to begin Sept. 13. The 24-year-old Pierce required lung surgery after he was stabbed in the neck, back and chest, and hit over the head with a bottle inside a Boston nightclub. William Ragland, 20, Trevor Watson, 35, and Anthony Hurston, 33, are charged with armed assault with intent to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and related offenses.
