Stebbins services

? Graveside services for Carlie Fae Stebbins, 72, Emporia, formerly of Perry, will be at 10 a.m. today at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Perry.

Mrs. Stebbins died Monday, June 24, 2002, at Newman Hospital, Emporia, after an extended illness.

She was born March 1, 1930, in Eldon, Mo., the daughter of Carl D. and Nora Fae (Dunnaway) Blevins. She had lived in Emporia for three years, moving there from Lawrence. She had lived most of her life in the Perry area. She was a 1948 graduate of Perry Rural High School.

Mrs. Stebbins was a homemaker and had worked for the state of Kansas during tax season for several years. She also had worked at Topeka State Hospital.

She was a member of Perry Christian Church and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 142, Perry.

She married Harold “Wayne” Stebbins Feb. 19, 1949, in Perry. He died April 26, 1989.

Survivors include two sons, Fredrick Stebbins, Perry, and Dennis Stebbins, Overbrook; a daughter, Janice Yost, Emporia; a sister, Sharon Wilbur, Oskaloosa; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A grandchild died earlier.

The family suggests memorials to the Shriner’s Hospital for Burns, sent in care of Barnett Funeral Home, P.O. Box 416, Oskaloosa 66066.
