College football: Royals prospect out for year
Clemson wide receiver Roscoe Crosby is out for the season following surgery on his right elbow.
Crosby, also a top outfield prospect for the Kansas City Royals, will use a medical redshirt season and still have three years of football eligibility, Clemson athletic spokesman Tim Bourret said Wednesday.
Brian Peters, Crosby’s baseball agent, said the surgery was performed Tuesday, according to The (Anderson) Independent-Mail. The procedure, known as “Tommy John surgery,” was performed in Birmingham, Ala., by sports surgeon Dr. James Andrews.
