“The Tour de France for Dummies,” a free clinic for those who want to learn about the annual Tour de France bicycle race, will be at 8 p.m. today at the Sunflower Outdoor and Bike Shop, 802 Mass.

Clinic topics include a breakdown of the main rivals in the race, the route and the history of the tour. French wine and cheese will be served during the clinic.

Three Americans have a chance of winning this year’s Tour de France: Lance Armstrong, who has won the race three times; Tyler Hamilton, who recently took second place in the Tour of Italy; and Levi Leipheimer, who took third place in last year’s tour of Spain.
