She was born Oct. 19, 1959, in Topeka, the daughter of Harry R. and LaMerle (Bolin) McCoy.

Ms. McCoy was a homemaker.

She was a member of Community Church of God, Lawrence, and had been involved in prison ministry.

Survivors include two daughters, JaSu B. Darnell and Faith A.M. Darnell, of the home; and her mother, Lawrence.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary and suggests memorials to the Educational Fund for Jasu and Faith Darnell, sent in care of the mortuary.
