Utah rookies switch spots on injured reserve

Salt Lake City The Utah Starzz activated forward Danielle Crockrom from the injured list and placed guard LaNeishea Caufield on it on Friday.

Caufield, the 14th overall pick in this year’s WNBA draft, is out with a possible stress fracture in her left leg. She averaged 2.4 points in eight games this season.

Crockrom, another rookie who was the 11th overall selection, averaged 1.6 points in six games before going on the injured list June 11 because of a bruised right shin.

Shock waive Russian center Zakaluzhnaya

Auburn Hills, Mich. The Detroit Shock waived Oksana Zakaluzhnaya on Friday.

The 6-6 Russian center was on the injured list because of a bruised left knee. Zakaluzhnaya missed a total of 48 games due to injury the last three seasons.

Zakaluzhnaya, who played the first three games of this season, was placed on the injured list on June 2.
