Marine Corps Cpl. Tulsa L. Simpson, a 1999 graduate of Lawrence High School, recently was promoted to his current rank while serving with 2nd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 2nd Marine Division at Marine Corps Base in Camp Lejeune, N.C. Simpson was promoted based on sustained superior job performance and proficiency in his designated specialty.

The USS Mount McKinley Assn. will have a reunion Sept. 11-15 in Washington, D.C., for veterans of the Army, Navy and Marines who served on the Amphibious Force Flagship, USS Mount McKinley AGC/LLC-7.
