The Lone Star 4-H Club’s June 10 meeting was called to order by Grant Metsker, junior president, at Rock Haven Park.

Members answered roll call by giving their fathers a compliment. Members decided to have the club tour and mini-fair on July 14. The tour will begin at 2 p.m. and the mini fair will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Jenning’s house.

Community leaders reminded members that pre-entries for the Douglas County Free Fair are due June 30. Sign-up sheets were passed around for the fair concession stand and building set-ups.

There will be a food/health workshop July 8-12. The pet show is July 20. Project talks were given by members enrolled in the dairy, horse, sheep, and pet projects.

The Meadowlark 4-H Club members made tray favors for the Meals on Wheels program before meeting June 11 at Pendleton’s farm. Darianne Hicks, vice president, presided during the meeting. Members answered roll call by giving their forecast on what time it would rain. The club sang “Hey, Joe.” For recreation, members helped Cathy Musick, 4-H agent, put together a 4-H puzzle.

The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. July 9 at Pendleton’s farm. The club’s annual mini-fair, where members bring in projects that they are working on or have completed for the Douglas County Free Fair, at the end of July.
