Duo to perform concert of Scottish music

Maria Anthony and Megan Hurt will present “Songs and Tunes of the Celtic Nations and Beyond” at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Lawrence Public Library, 707 Vt. The 45-minute concert includes primarily Scottish music.

The concert is free and open to the public.

Grammy panel to review demos

Kansas City, Mo. A panel of Kansas City/Lawrence music experts will review submitted demos at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Uptown Theater, 3700 Broadway, Kansas City, Mo.

Judges include musicians Brent Berry, Tech N9ne and Shane Murray, producer Keith Loneker (5150 Mental), promoter Jacki Becker (House of Blues), entertainment editor Jon Niccum (Lawrence Journal-World) and music editor Andrew Miller (Pitch Weekly).

A grand prize will be awarded to the winner that includes: studio time at BRC Audio and Chapman Studio to record and mix one song, 100 CDs duplicated by Audio Videographics, graphic design by BauWau Design, photo shoot with Evie Quarles and $100 gift certificate from Hume Music.
