Deward E. Robinson

Topeka Services for Deward E. “Spike” Robinson will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Bowser Johnson Funeral Chapel, Topeka. Burial is pending.

Mr. Robinson died Monday, June 17, 2002, at a Topeka hospital after an illness.

He was born Aug. 25, 1953, in Lawrence, the son of Navois and Bobbie (Smith) Bearden. He lived most of his life in Topeka. He graduated from Washburn Rural High School and attended Kansas State University.

Mr. Robinson was a customer service technician for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Clamagore during the Vietnam War.

He married LaDonna Drummond on April 1, 1981, in Salina. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include five children, Leela Robinson, Tegan Robinson and Zed Robinson, all of Topeka, Elizabeth Noeller and Jacob Noeller, both of Salina; his parents, Topeka; two brothers, Clinton and Prentiss Bearden, both of Topeka; and his grandmother, Hattie Norman, Topeka.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bowser Johnson Funeral Chapel, Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
