Renegades trip Topeka
Ottawa ? Lawrence’s Devon Myers hit a go-ahead, two-run home run as the Renegades defeated the Topeka Shockers, 3-1, Friday at a USSSA 18-under baseball tournament.
“Yeah, I was pleased,” Lawrence coach Lynn Harrod said. “We played our first good defensive game all year.”
Myers’ homer was his first of the summer. Ryan Jackson, who improved to 2-0, had nine strikeouts, two walks.
“He was in control,” Harrod said of his starter. “He really competed well against a good-hitting team.”
Lawrence (7-5) plays the Indy Blaze at 4:30 p.m. today.
