2002 budget woes likely topic at forum

Registration has begun for the 2002 Kansas Economic Policy Conference held by Kansas University Continuing Education and KU’s Policy Research Institute.

This year’s conference, titled “At the Crossroads: Can Kansas Afford its Future?” is scheduled for Oct. 17 at the Kansas Union.

Participants, which include business leaders, legislators, state and local policy-makers, educators and others from the public, are expected to discuss this year’s economic turmoil and budget controversy.

Topics will include public education, state revenues, health care and social services and the overall Kansas economic outlook.
