There was bad news in the mail as local resident noted their sewer and water bills had risen as much as $5 a month.
The Integrated Humanities Program at Kansas University again was under fire as it had been since its beginning in 1971. A newly formed Committee for Academic and Religious Liberty was considering legal action against the program.
Scott Brooks, 34-year-old assistant professor of political science, was killed in a two-car collision near Big Springs on U.S. Highway 40.
IN 1962
Kansas University was among 22 schools negotiating to establish an Inter-University Consortium for Political Research with the Survey Research Center of Michigan University. John Grumm, associate professor of political science, was leading the effort.
