Notre Dame completes CWS field
Omaha, Neb. ? The stands at the College World Series will have a decidedly red look again this year.
Nebraska, which won its super regional during the weekend against Richmond, will take the short 60-mile trip from Lincoln to Omaha this week for its second straight appearance in college baseball’s eight-team, double-elimination tournament for the national title.
After Sunday’s super regionals, seven of the eight teams were set. Notre Dame beat Florida State 3-1 on Monday in the final game of their best-of-three series after rains delayed the second game Saturday.
The CWS, played at Omaha’s Rosenblatt Stadium, will begin Friday with Georgia Tech (51-14) playing South Carolina (53-16). Nebraska (47-19) will play Clemson (52-15) that night.
