Former Kansas University basketball player Jeff Carey was married on Saturday.

Carey, 6-foot-10 from Camdenton, Mo., walked the aisle with Mollie Hampton in a ceremony at St. Michael’s and All Angels Episcopal Church in Overland Park.

Carey’s dad, Ray, was best man, while former Jayhawk center Eric Chenowith was a groomsman.

Jerod Haase, C.B. McGrath and Ben Miller of the KU basketball office attended, as did ex-Jayhawks Greg Gurley, Jeff Boschee, Brett Ballard and Chris Zerbe and current Jayhawks Nick Collison and Kirk Hinrich. The parents of Boschee and Collison also attended.

KU coach Roy Williams was out of town celebrating his wife’s birthday in South Carolina. Assistant Joe Holladay, who was visiting his son in Italy, also couldn’t attend.

The Careys are vacationing near Cancun. Jeff will continue work toward his MBA degree next semester, while Mollie is working in critical care nursing at Olathe Medical Center.
