Fees outrageous

I find this unbelievable. I have three children, two attending LHS and one attending elementary school. According to the letter, it will cost $240 per student to ride the school bus. That is $720 out of my pocket for my children to go to school. This doesn’t count book fees, etc., or school supplies or school clothes and shoes.

What are the city and county thinking? That the families in Lawrence have one child per household? What should I do? Let my children quit school because I can’t afford to send them?

This is outrageous! Does the county think that each time they put in a raise or a tax fee that our paycheck goes up to compensate for the raise?

The school district wants to educate my children. NO, they want to raise their own paychecks. What about the welfare of my children, our household? Do we not count for anything? And people wonder why so many people are on welfare.
