CIA tactics

Misreading me as opposing all intelligence agencies. ( I supported redistributing CIA funds to more competent agencies.)

Making weak brags. (Predicting post-WWII economic resurgence of Western Europe and Japan wasn’t hard, given massive U.S. assistance to previously highly industrialized areas.)

Self-pitying and vapidly posturing. (Sneegas laments insufficient “space to copy and paste” CIA successes. My letter listed 11 CIA failures.)

Disingenuously claiming CIA failures are public but not its successes. (The six blowback cases I listed were originally leaked by the CIA as successes.)

Taking cheap shots. (Sneegas says they’ve prevented two attacks, but not how big, or if in the United States, or if confirmed outside the CIA.)

Not weighing benefits against costs. (Preventing two attacks is allegedly “enough … to justify [the CIA’s] existence”  no matter what attacks are CAUSED by bungled interventions.)

Opposing democratic oversight of spies (except by retired agents).

Sneegas’ letter demonstrates why the CIA should be abolished.
