Fitch services

Services for Jack L. Fitch, 75, Lawrence and Kansas City, Kan., will be at 10 p.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Fitch died Monday, July 22, 2002, at Louisburg Care Center, Louisburg.

He was born Jan. 18, 1927, in Bendena, the son of Elmer and Mabel Fitch.

Mr. Fitch was a member of the Ben Hur Masonic Lodge No. 322 in Argentine and Abdallah Shrine Temple in Kansas City, Kan. He was also a past president of Turner High School Boosters Club. He was a manager for Kansas City, Kan., 3&2 baseball and a Lawrence women’s softball team, and he served as a leader for Troop No. 33 Boy Scouts.

He married Loraine F. Crawford on Oct. 9, 1949, in Kansas City, Mo. She died July 22, 1991.

Survivors include two daughters, Debra K. Fitch, Merriam, and Julia A. Fitch, Kansas City, Mo.; two sons, Ralph L., Linn Valley, and Donald L., Barboursville, W.Va.; two brothers, Ralph, Lawrence, and Robert, Dallas; a sister, Betty Babcock, Kansas City, Kan.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 9 a.m. Thursday at the mortuary, where family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

The family suggests memorials to American Cancer Society, sent in care of the mortuary.
