Seneca pair capture Melvern walleye title
Dennis Murphy and Jim Krotzinger, both of Seneca, caught 10 walleye that weighed 43.2 pounds and were the overall champs of the Kansas Walleye Association season-finale tournament on July 13-14 at Melvern Lake.
Doug Duncan and Rich Farmer, both of Wichita, were the first-day winners with while the Murphy-Krotzinger duo won on the second day.
First-day runners-up were Craig Athon of Topeka and Darren Jenson of Hoyt. Second-place finishers on the second day were Steve Mullen and Sheryl Mullen, both of Kirwin.
Duncan and Farmer caught the largest walleye, a 7.4-pounder.
