Mary Sturgeon

? Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Sturgeon, 66, Kansas City, Kan., will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Kansas City, Kan. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Kansas City, Kan.

Mrs. Sturgeon died Friday, July 19, 2002, at Providence Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan. She was a lifelong resident of Kansas City, Kan.

She was born July 31, 1935, in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of David Leonard and Cornelia Zelma (Edmondson) Blessington.

Mrs. Sturgeon worked at Caring Place Daycare and Sunshine Daycare, both in Kansas City, Kan. She was a member of Saturday Night Strippers Quilting Group, Kaw Valley Quilt Group, Sewing on the Line and Lansing Quilt Guild.

She married Cecil D. Sturgeon. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include three sons, Greg Sturgeon, Bonner Springs, Dave Sturgeon, Shreveport, La., and Richard Sturgeon, Los Alamos, N.M.; a daughter, Sharon Vokins, Lawrence; a brother, David Lee Blessington, Tucson, Ariz.; a sister, Barbara Blessington, Sacramento, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Joseph A. Butler & Son Funeral Home, Kansas City, Kan.
