Clara Cramer Gehrt
McFarland ? Private family graveside services for Clara Cramer Gehrt, 98, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, McFarland.
Mrs. Gehrt died on Friday, July 19, 2002, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born April 22, 1904, in Peoria, Ill., the daughter of Adam A. and Catherine (Meyer) Cramer. She graduated from Central High School in Wichita and from Wichita Business College.
She worked for Boeing Aircraft during World War II, where she worked on an assembly line building B-29 bombers, and then as a clerk in several department stores.
Mrs. Gehrt was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Lawrence and was a charter member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wichita. She was active in many church organizations, including the Lutheran Braille Society, where she was a translator, and the Cradle Role.
She married Rudolph E. Gehrt on May 25, 1925, in Wichita. He died in January 1972.
Survivors include a daughter, Irene Brodie, Lander, Wyo.; a son, Floyd Gehrt, Lawrence; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Friends may call Monday morning until service time at Stewart Funeral Home, Alma.
