STILLWATER, OKLA. ? She was born June 1, 1935, at Lake Station, the daughter of George R. and Izola (Alberty) Hughes. She attended elementary school at Lake Station, graduated from high school at Sand Springs and was an alumnus of Oklahoma State University.

The family moved to Stillwater from Lawrence, Kan., in 1971.

Mrs. Stewart was an active member of University Heights Baptist Church.

She married Gary F. Stewart on Aug. 18, 1956, in Sand Springs. He survives.

Other survivors include three daughters, Leslie Meyer, Abilene, Kan.; Terri Roark, Stillwater, and Christie Miller, Carney; and six grandchildren.
