Church van crash kills youth
Pine Mountain, Ga. ? A church van loaded with young people crashed after a tire blowout, killing a 12-year-old boy and injuring 12 other people.
The van was one of several carrying youngsters attending a youth conference at Bread of Life Christian Center.
They were returning Friday to Columbus from a water park in Marietta when a tire on the van blew out, sending the fully loaded 15-passenger vehicle skidding into the median, police said.
Harris County Coroner Lori Camp identified the victim as Anthony Williams, 12, of Urbana, Ill.
The others, ranging in age from 9 to the early 20s, were taken to hospitals in LaGrange and Columbus. Seven remained hospitalized Saturday.
Most of the injured were from the Bread of Life Church in Champaign, Ill.
