Pauline E. Eberline

Memorial services for Pauline E. Eberline, 87, Lawrence, will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Vermont Towers, Lawrence, with inurnment at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Forrest Cemetery, Oskaloosa, Iowa.

Mrs. Eberline died Wednesday, July 10, 2002, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, Mo.

She was born Dec. 26, 1914, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the daughter of James Patrick and Mary Elizabeth “Molly” (Pennington) Gorman.

Mrs. Eberline worked with her husband and was a counselor and house parent for many years at the YMCA Boys Ranch in Des Moines, Iowa, and at other boys ranches in Illinois and Iowa.

She was a volunteer nurse in World War II and volunteered in community hospitals throughout her life.

A Lawrence resident since moving here in 1991 from Oklahoma, Mrs. Eberline was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

She married Jerald Eberline in the early 1940s in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He died in 1973.

Survivors include a son, Joseph Eberline, Clermont, Fla.; a sister, Ruth Wilson, Des Moines, Iowa; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to Douglas County Visiting Nurses Assn., sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, which is handling Lawrence arrangements.
