Melvin H. Williamson

? He was born May 2, 1919, in St. Clair, Mo., the son of John Henry and Grace Ellen (Becks) Williamson. He moved to Princeton in 1982 from Lawrence, where he had lived since 1968.

Mr. Williamson worked in bridge and road construction and was a 14-year employee of the city of Oskaloosa. He retired in 1982 after 15 years as a duplicator-supervisor in the continuing education department at Kansas University.

Mr. Williamson, who also had lived in Oskaloosa and Eudora, was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Lawrence.

He married Evelyn E. Gard on Aug. 19, 1944, in Kansas City, Mo. She died March 29, 1998.

Survivors include three daughters, Melva Lee Black, Ottawa, Judith Ann Good, Princeton, and Edna Mary Abbott, Grandview, Mo.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary.
