Faxon fires back at greats

? Brad Faxon took issue Wednesday with three of golf’s greatest players about whether there was sufficient competition for Tiger Woods in the modern game.

Faxon said Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Gary Player were out of line to suggest Woods did not have the same level of competitors as they did when they were winning major titles.

“I laugh at these guys like Nicklaus, Palmer and Player that say we don’t have enough good players that are stepping up to Tiger because I think that is ridiculous,” Faxon said as he prepared for the Scottish Open.

“I think if Tiger was playing when those guys were playing, Jack wouldn’t have 18 majors and Arnold and Gary wouldn’t have as many as they do because he is better than anyone who has ever played.”
