Aniston wins topless suit

Los Angeles With husband Brad Pitt at her side, “Friends” star Jennifer Aniston on Tuesday settled her privacy lawsuit against two magazines that published photographs of her sunbathing topless in her back yard.

“We have perfected a settlement that’s confidential … this matter has been resolved,” U.S. District Judge Ronald S.W. Lew said after a 2 1/2-hour in-chambers meeting with attorneys. Pitt and Aniston were in court for the announcement just before noon, but they left without speaking to reporters.

The nonjury trial in Aniston’s lawsuit had been scheduled to begin Tuesday.

Salsa singer separated

New York After two years of marriage, singer Marc Anthony and his wife, former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres, have separated.

Anthony, 33, and Torres, 26, were married in May 2000 in Las Vegas. They lived on Long Island and have a 16-month-old son, Christian Anthony Muniz. Anthony also has a daughter from a previous relationship.

The New York-born Anthony is a salsa singer who crossed over to U.S. pop charts with his self-titled, English debut album in 1999. The disc, which included the hit the song “I Need to Know,” sold more than 3 million copies.

Third time down the aisle

Beverly Hills, Calif. Actor-comedian Tom Arnold, host of the Fox Sports Network’s “Best Damn Sports Show Period,” has married girlfriend Shelby Roos.

Arnold’s publicist, Staci Wolfe, said Monday that the couple celebrated with friends at a ceremony at the Four Seasons Hotel, but gave no other details.

The 43-year-old previously was married to comic actress Roseanne Barr. They divorced in November 1994 after nearly four years of marriage. His most recent marriage was to Julie Lynne Champnella. They were married in Dearborn, Mich., but divorced in 1999 after 3 1/2 years.

Roos, 30, works for a political consultant in Los Angeles.

Furniture of the gods?

High Point, N.C. Actor Kevin Sorbo, who had a five-year stint as television’s Hercules, will visit North Carolina for two days in October to tout his new furniture collection.

Sorbo joins a growing list of celebrities, including Martha Stewart and former “Charlie’s Angels” star Jaclyn Smith, expected to show off their wares during this fall’s International Home Furnishings Market.

He and his wife, Sam, are working with California-based Boyd Furniture to design three furniture collections, the first of which will be unveiled at this year’s market, said Bill Carpenter, senior vice president of sales and marketing.
