Ottawa — Private inurnment services for Homer L. Smith, 77, Ottawa, will be at a later date. He was cremated.
Mr. Smith died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at Midland Hospice House, Topeka.
He was born Nov. 17, 1924, in El Dorado, the son of H.D. and Cleo (Johnson) Smith. He grew up in Ottawa and attended schools there.
Mr. Smith was a cross-country truck driver most of his career until he retired in 1988.
Survivors include three daughters, Jane Smith, Lawrence, Terri Smith, Longford, and Connie Zimmerman, El Dorado Springs, Mo.; a brother, Dean, Olympia, Wash.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A son, Stephen, died in 1971.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p .m. Friday at Lamb-Roberts-Heise Funeral Home, Ottawa.
The family suggests memorials to the hospice house, sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 14, Ottawa 66067.
