Ottawa ? He was born Nov. 17, 1924, in El Dorado, the son of H.D. and Cleo (Johnson) Smith. He grew up in Ottawa and attended schools there.

Mr. Smith was a cross-country truck driver most of his career until he retired in 1988.

Survivors include three daughters, Jane Smith, Lawrence, Terri Smith, Longford, and Connie Zimmerman, El Dorado Springs, Mo.; a brother, Dean, Olympia, Wash.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A son, Stephen, died in 1971.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p .m. Friday at Lamb-Roberts-Heise Funeral Home, Ottawa.
