Partisan bias

To the editor:

In response to Mr. Carleton’s Feb. 11 letter to the editor.

Please don’t use the horror of the 9/11 attacks as a forum for your partisan bias. Face it Mr. Carleton, Gore lost the election, and blaming the 9/11 attacks on the Bush administration isn’t going to change the outcome of the election.

Not once has President Bush, Vice President Cheney, or any of the other gentlemen you named ever called or considered themselves heroes. They have a job to do and they are doing the best they can, under the circumstances.

The attacks took the entire world by surprise. Am I supposed to believe that if the tables were turned and Mr. Gore and Mr. Lieberman were running the country when the attacks occurred, that they would address the nation as you suggest the current administration should? I think not.

Perhaps Mr. Carleton, you should try to be the speech writer for President Jeb Bartlet on “The West Wing” because like the television show, your speech is pure fiction.

Kevin Albert,

Lawrence
