Organizers seek to raise $23,000 for MS Walk

Join Emily Fosha, community Multiple Sclerosis WALK chair, and take a walk Saturday, April 27, in the Lawrence MS WALK at Burcham Park, 200 Ind.

Last year the Lawrence MS WALK raised $20,000. Organizers hope to raise more than $23,000 in 2002.

Thirteen other communities in eastern Kansas also will participate in the MS WALK, including Ottawa and Topeka on May 4. The walk is from six to nine miles in length, and there is a three-mile handicapped accessible option.

Participants will be supported by family, friends and colleagues who will pledge donations or funds for each mile walked. Local sponsorship, commitment and generosity all make the walk possible. Proceeds from the walk help with local support and national research. Participants can walk as individuals or form a team.

To register for the MS WALK in Lawrence, contact the MS Society at (800) 745-7148.
