Helen Coleman Redd

? She was born July 28, 1903, in Winchester, the daughter of Frank and Lula (Lowe) Coleman. She was a 1921 graduate of Oskaloosa High School and attended Emporia State Teacher’s College. She had lived in Topeka since 1992, moving from Leavenworth, where she had lived 40 years.

Mrs. Redd had worked as a bookkeeper at Wolcott-Lincoln Grain Elevator, Leavenworth, for more than 40 years.

She was a member of Pilgrim United Church of Christ, Leavenworth; Leavenworth Chapter of P.E.O. Sisterhood; Leavenworth Country Club and its ladies’ bridge club.

Mrs. Redd also served as a “gray lady” volunteer at Cushing Memorial Hospital, Leavenworth.

She married W. Menefee “Bill” Redd on July 28, 1932, in Dodge City. He died Jan. 15, 1992.

Survivors include a nephew and several cousins.
