Riley services

He was born Jan. 1, 1917, in Norwich, the son of Emery Cleve and Anna Maude (Stephens) Riley. He was a longtime resident of Norwich.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Mr. Riley was the retired plant protection engineer and fire chief for the Hercules Corp., DeSoto.

He was a member of Kingman Christian Church and Doric Lodge No. 83.

He married Beatrice Berneice Workman on Sept. 26, 1943. She died in 1989. He married Doris Bentley in 1990. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Kenneth Eugene II, Atlanta, Tex.; two daughters, Connie Taul, St. George, Utah, and Cheryl Taylor, North Ridge, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Rita Rutlege, Wellington, and Pam Bentley, Norwich; two brothers, Jim, Wichita, and Jack, Norwich; two sisters, Gladys Johnson, Wichita, and Jessie Mae Marsh, Evart, Mich.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A grandson died earlier.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at the mortuary.

The family suggests memorials to Norwich EMTs, sent in care of the mortuary.
