Carolyn Theresa Martin

Perry Mass of Christian Burial for Carolyn Theresa Martin, 81, Perry, formerly of Ozawkie and Marysville, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Perry. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Gregory Cemetery, Marysville.

Mrs. Martin died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, at her daughter’s home in Ozawkie.

She was born Jan. 1, 1921, in Diller, Neb., the daughter of Charles Williams and Albertina Willamena (Peterson) Hennerberg. She attended Hanover Public Schools. She had lived in Ozawkie since 1997, moving there from Marysville, where she had lived since 1961.

Mrs. Martin was a homemaker. She had formerly worked as a nurse’s aid at Hanover Hospital and as a cashier at the Safeway Grocery Store, Marysville.

She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, Perry, and belonged to its Altar Society. She was a former member of St. Gregory Catholic Church, Marysville. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 2699 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Unit No.163, both of Marysville.

She married Raymond William Martin on Jan. 13, 1941, in Washington, Kan. He died March 8, 2000.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Ray and LeRoy Wayne, both of Marysville; a daughter, Barbara Ann Thomas, Ozawkie; two sisters, Elsie Moser, Washington, Kan., and Clara Allerhieligen, Lincoln, Neb.; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Barnett Funeral Home, Oskaloosa, where a rosary prayer service will be at 6:30 p.m. today.
