Willard B. Lewis

Topeka Services for William B. Lewis, 87, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home, Topeka. Burial will be in Rochester Cemetery, Topeka.

Mr. Lewis died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, at his home.

He was born Oct. 12, 1914, the son of Henry B. and Amy Luella (Menefee) Lewis. He was a graduate of Northwest Nazarene University, Nampa, Idaho. He had lived in Lawrence since June 1997.

Mr. Lewis served in the Army during World War II. He retired from a lumber mill in Plumas County, Calif., after many years of employment.

He married Marguerite Sophia Kidd. She died earlier.

Survivors include a son, Dennis Lee, Rio Linda, Calif.; two grandchildren; a step-granddaughter; and a step-great-grandson.

Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The family suggests memorials to Heart of America Hospice or to the American Legion Assn., sent in care of the funeral home, 1035 N. Kansas, Topeka 66608.
