Rodney ‘Hot Rod’ Boettcher

? Memorial services for Rodney Allan “Hot Rod” Boettcher, 35, Edwardsville, will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at New Hope Christian Fellowship, Kansas City, Kan. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Kansas City, Kan.

Mr. Boettcher died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, at Kansas University Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan.

He was born Nov. 26, 1966, in Elgin, Ill. He graduated from Turner High School in 1985 and attended Kansas State University.

Mr. Boettcher had been a journeyman lineman and troubleshooter for KCPL for the past 13 years. He participated in the Annual International Lineman’s Rodeo. He also was a member and board member of New Hope Christian Fellowship, where he was a Sunday school teacher.

Survivors include a daughter, Erica Boettcher, Merriam; twin brothers, Terry, Owensville, Mo., and Larry, St. Louis; his mother, Mary Kane, Kansas City, Kan.; and his father, Dennis Boettcher, Lawrence.

Raymond Babcock and Randy Babcock died earlier.

Friends may call from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

The family suggests memorials to the church, 8200 Kansas Ave., Kansas City, Kan. 66111.

Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs is in charge of arrangements.
