True meaning

You have to wonder about the moral fabric of our nation when many people get so offended by the portrayal of God in the Christian context. In some cases, their objections are rooted in a devout adherence to another faith, which is understandable. However, in most cases, the objectors don’t really practice any religious faith, and deny the existence of God (or any supreme being), preferring instead to believe that they alone control their own lives and destinies.

I submit that many objecting parents are really uncomfortable about the Christian message because it includes the possibility of eternal punishment in the afterlife. That is why the biblical account of Christmas is that Jesus came into the world to save his people from their sins. Some people don’t like it, but that is what Christmas is all about.
