Texas RB commits to Kansas

Kansas football coach Mark Mangino’s list of recruits is now at 14 after Taurance Rawls verbally committed to the Jayhawks, according to Jon Kirby of Rivals.com.

Rawls, a 5-foot-11, 190-pound high school running back/defensive back from Garland, Texas, rushed for 1,5000 yards last season, garnering district offensive players of the year honors. He also was named an honorable mention all-state pick.

Rawls chose KU over Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Houston, Texas Tech and Louisville.

“I liked the way the (KU) players treated me,” Rawls told Kirby. “The coaches seemed like they really cared about the players. I liked the facilities and the new weight room coming in. But if there was one thing that stood out – it’s the way all of the players talked so highly of the coaching staff. That’s why I committed to Kansas.”
