Teen charged in shooting

? A Kansas City man has been charged with murder in the Nov. 24 shooting death of a 17-year-old girl at a dance in Kansas City.

Yntell C. Duley, 19, was charged Saturday with eight counts, including second-degree murder, in the death of Kristi Carroll.

Duley also is charged with three counts of first-degree assault and four counts of armed criminal action in a shooting authorities say was gang-related.

According to court records, Duley was among several hundred youths at a dance at a banquet hall on the city’s east side. Police say he confronted rival gang members after an altercation on the dance floor, then pulled out a small handgun and fired several shots into the crowd.

Carroll was struck in the back of the head and died later at a hospital. Three other teens were wounded.

Witnesses reported seeing Duley flee after the shooting with other gang members in a white car.
