Burglaries and thefts reported

  • Someone stole a Pontiac Grand Am valued at $1,100 from a home in the 2900 block of West Ninth Street, according to a police report. The car’s owner, a 51-year-old man, told Lawrence Police the car disappeared between 10:30 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday.

Police reports

  • A car struck an 8-year-old Lawrence boy who was crossing the street Thursday evening near Centennial School. The boy was crossing Louisiana Street in a crosswalk at 22nd Street about 5:30 p.m. when a Subaru driven by a 45-year-old Linwood woman hit him. He was treated and released at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
