Smith-Boydston

Julianne Smith and Bradley Boydston, both of Lawrence, were married Oct. 25, 2002, at the St. Lawrence Catholic Chapel in Lawrence with the Rev. John Schmeidler officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Ron and Sharilyn Smith, Emporia. She is the granddaughter of George and Imogene, Emporia, and Bob and Theresa, Erie. The groom is the son of Ben and Kay Boydston, Lawrence. He is the grandson of Bunny Richards, Lawrence.

Maid of honor was Angela Smith. Best man was Erik Anderson.

Ushers were Toby Workman, Jed Smith and Galen Blakeman. Lou Ann Krumme attended the guest book and gift table. Program attendants were Adam Krumme and Dave Krumme. Flower attendant was Mona Smith. Ken Smith and Kathy Elrod were readers. Becky Cheek-King was soloist. Isaac Krumme provided videography.

A reception followed at Alvamar Country Club in Lawrence. Darrel and Carol Falen were hosts. Greeters at the reception were Alison Chrisco and Marilyn Facklam. Entertainment was provided by Gregg Eichorn. Cake table attendants were Julia Krumme, Carrie Boettcher and Donisha Krumme.

The couple traveled to Grand Cayman Island for their honeymoon.

The bride is a 1987 graduate of MacArthur High School in San Antonio. She received a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1991 from the University of Texas. She received a doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1999 after completing an internship at the University of Chicago Medical Center. She is a psychologist at Bert Nash Community Mental Health Center and an adjunct professor in the clinical child psychology program at Kansas University.

The groom is a 1988 graduate of Lawrence High School and a 1993 graduate of Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in business management information systems. He works at the Bert Nash Community Mental Health Center as a systems analyst.

The couple reside in Lawrence.

Lowe-McNellis

Ellen Lowe and Michael McNellis, both of Lawrence, were married June 29, 2002, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Lawrence with the Rev. Jim Shaughnessy officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Thomas and Wanda Lowe, Lawrence. She is the granddaughter of Wanda Bates, Manhattan. The groom is the son of Kevin and Karen McNellis, Prairie Village. He is the grandson of Jean Bomstad and Pat and Jack McNellis, all of Prairie Village.

The bride’s honor attendant was Russell Lowe and the groom’s honor attendant was Megan McNellis.

Bridesmaids were Jenny Memmott, Amanda Hunter and Jessica Barry. Groomsmen were Brian Lowe, Andrew Kwarcinski and Matthew Queen. Ushers were David Bates, Michael Grimmett and Thomas Saffell. Flower girls were Carolyn Radke and Marie Radke.

A reception followed at Alvamar Country Club in Lawrence.

The bride is a 1995 Lawrence High School graduate. She attended Kansas University and is a student at Mid America Nazarene University in Olathe. She is an associate with Reece and Nichols Real Estate in Lenexa.

The groom is a 1994 graduate of Rockhurst High School, Kansas City, Mo. He earned an associate’s degree from Macon State College in Macon, Ga. He also attended Georgia Institute of Technology and KU. He works at Sunflower Dodge in Olathe.

The couple reside in Lawrence.
