Sixers sink Lakers in OT

? More misfortune beset the struggling Los Angeles Lakers, who couldn’t take advantage after Allen Iverson gave them a chance to walk away with a win.

Iverson missed two free throws with 5.3 seconds left in overtime, but Robert Horry’s pass to an open, driving Rick Fox bounced off Fox’s hands. Derrick Coleman then made two free throws to wrap up Philadelphia’s 107-104 victory Friday night.

Iverson scored 32 points and Coleman added 18 points. The Lakers had one more chance to tie it after Coleman’s free throws with 2.1 seconds left, but Iverson intercepted Horry’s pass for his ninth steal.

Keith Van Horn added 20 points and 11 rebounds for the Sixers, who have won three straight after losing five in a row.

Kobe Bryant had 44 points and 10 assists, and Shaquille O’Neal added 26 points and 14 rebounds as the Lakers lost their third in a row.

O’Neal, who fouled out with 4:01 left in overtime, missed four free throws in the final 2:42 of regulation. He finished 8-for-19 from the foul line.

Los Angeles is 2-13 on the road, including 0-7 against teams from the East.

Heat 97, Raptors 77

Toronto — Rookie Caron Butler scored a season-high 25 points for Miami. Eddie Jones added 17 points for the Heat, who have won three of four. Voshon Lenard had a team-high 19 for the Raptors.

Pacers 101, Bulls 86

Indianapolis — Brad Miller had 26 points and 14 rebounds, Ron Mercer added 16 points and Ron Artest 12 for Indiana.

Boston — Paul Pierce scored 42 points and grabbed 14 rebounds as the Celtics rebounded from two bad losses.

Kevin Garnett led the Timberwolves with 27 points.

Grizzlies 95, Bucks 84

Memphis, Tenn. — Wesley Person scored 23 points, including 12 straight in the final period, as the Grizzlies overcame a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit.

Milwaukee led 76-66 with just under nine minutes to play, but Memphis outscored the Bucks 26-6 in the final 7:23. The Bucks didn’t score in the final 2:40.

Pistons 109, Cavaliers 107, OT

Auburn Hills, Mich. — Corliss Williamson scored four of his 19 points in the final minute of overtime as Detroit overcame Ricky Davis’ 42 points.

Rockets 101, Hawks 82

Houston — Glen Rice, Cuttino Mobley and Yao Ming led a third-quarter turnaround. Steve Francis scored 23 points, Mobley added 22 and Yao had 17 points and eight rebounds.

Glenn Robinson led Atlanta with 28 points.

Jazz 93, Mavericks 81

Dallas — Matt Harpring scored 19 points and Calbert Cheaney had a season-high 18 as Utah ended a four-game losing streak.

Dirk Nowitzki had 28 points and 17 rebounds for Dallas.

Magic 89, Nuggets 80

Denver — Pat Garrity and Shawn Kemp scored 17 points each, helping Orlando overcome the absence of NBA scoring leader Tracy McGrady.

Juwan Howard had 20 points, Rodney White added 16 and Donnell Harvey 15 for the Nuggets.

Hornets 88, SuperSonics 86, OT

Seattle — Robert Traylor tipped in Baron Davis’s miss just before the final buzzer as the Hornets snapped a three-game losing streak.

Jamal Mashburn scored five of his game-high 30 points in overtime. Davis had 20, and David Wesley added 18. Rashard Lewis scored 26 points to lead the SuperSonics, who have lost six of their last eight games.

Blazers 113, Warriors 111

Oakland, Calif. — Bonzi Wells just missed having his third straight 30-point game, finishing with 28 points, six rebounds and five assists. Gilbert Arenas and Jason Richardson scored 23 points each to lead the Warriors.

Suns 87, Clippers 76

Los Angeles — Shawn Marion had 20 points and 12 rebounds, helping Phoenix build a 22-point lead in the third quarter and hold on. Rookie Marko Jaric had 18 points, nine assists and seven rebounds for the Clippers, who have lost four of six following a season-high three-game winning streak.
