Phyllis Carlyne Berndt
Services for Phyllis Carlyne Berndt, 65, Lawrence, will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Ms. Berndt died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born Oct. 26, 1937, in Lawrence, the daughter of Phil and Lena (James) Overbaugh.
Ms. Berndt worked for F.W. Woolworth Co. until 1955. She worked at Kansas University food service from 1986 until she retired in May 1994.
She married George Sprow on July 10, 1955. They later divorced. She married Ernest Berndt on Dec. 20, 1972. They later divorced.
Survivors include a daughter, Denise Harris, Lawrence; two sons, Barry Sprow, Lawrence, and Kevan Sprow, Detroit; her parents, Lawrence; a sister, Bettie Diehl, Lawrence; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
The family suggests memorials to American Diabetes Assn., sent in care of the mortuary.
