The University Bridge Club met Dec. 12 for its annual Christmas bridge session at Alvamar Country Club. The hosts were Tom and Cathy Waller and Horace and Freddie Nelson. The blue winners were Tom Waller, first; Henry Wigington, second; Leo Langlois, third; Roy Cropp, fourth; and Harold Riehm. The pink winners were Bette Lukens, first; Jean Dunn, second; Alice Akins, third; Marian Davis, fourth; and Edna Galle, fifth.

The Lawrence Duplicate Bridge Club met Dec. 9 for its weekly game. Eleven tables competed in a stratified game using a Mitchell movement. Virginia Seaver directed the game. Donna Johnson and Dave Piro, playing East-West, claimed first place in A. Jerry Sloan and Julia Brooks placed second. Virginia Seaver and Paul Heitzman finished third. Gladys Turner and Max Turner took first place in B and C. Lois Clark and Cathy Blumenfeld finished second in B and C. The North-South winners in A were Chuck Hedges and Kent McCullough. Sally Taylor and Shirley Vaughn finished second. Jeff Rees and Jeff Nash placed third in A and first in B and C. Don Brennaman and Olivier Urruty took fourth in A and second in B and C. Eldon Herd and Harry Shaffer placed fifth in A.

The Lawrence 299ers Duplicate Bridge Club met Dec. 11. The game was stratified and used a Howell movement. Dan Osman and Olivier Urruty finished first in A and B. Bill Hamilton and Bob Anderson placed second in A and B. Harry Talley and Don Daugherty took third place in A. Julie Ward and Don Brennaman finished fourth in A. Lynn Hui and Jo Abbott placed first in C. Don Brennaman directed the game.

Madelyn Jenks and Phyllis Brownlee placed third in A and second in B. Mike Montgomery and Bill Hamilton finished fourth in A, third in B and second in C. Bill Schutzel and Terry Tolar placed fifth in A. Competing East-West, Patt Radford and John Hickey claimed first place in A. Donna Johnson and Dave Piro took second. Christie Thomas and Dave Rhea finished third. Chuck Hedges and Kent McCullough took fourth place. Gladys Turner and Max Turner finished first in B and C.
