Texas A&M women fall; Baylor wins

? Tamara James scored 33 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as Miami beat Texas A&M 84-58 Thursday night.

Miami (5-3) more than doubled Texas A&M’s scoring from inside the paint, 44-20, and forced 25 turnovers to halt the Aggies’ (7-2) six-game winning streak.

Meghan Saake scored 13 and Yalonda McCormick had 11 for the Hurricanes.

The Hurricanes dominated the game from the outset, holding the Aggies to 25 percent shooting in the first half on their way to a 38-27 halftime lead.

Kim Moore led four Aggies in double figures with 13 points. Janae Derrick added 12 for Texas A&M while Lyne Classen and Toccara Willimas each scored 10.

Baylor 89, UCLA 77

Los Angeles — Steffanie Blackmon had 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Baylor past UCLA.

Baylor (9-1) trailed 45-39 at halftime but got double-digit scoring from Blackmon and five other players to seal the win.
