She was born March 12, 1923, in Shotts, Scotland, the daughter of Thomas and Emily (Clyde) Allen. She moved to Lawrence with her husband in 1995 from Lake Forest, Ill.

Mrs. Macfarlane was a homemaker.

She married Peter Macfarlane on June 19, 1945, in Edinborough, Scotland. He died Nov. 30, 2001.

Survivors include a daughter, Anne I. Macfarlane, Lawrence; a son, P. Allen Macfarlane, Lawrence; two brothers, Joe Allen and John Allen, both of Scotland; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home of P. Allen Macfarlane, 1723 W. 27th Terrace, after burial services.
