Hadl services

He was born Oct. 17, 1928, in Lawrence, the son of Otto and Elsie (Erwin) Hadl.

Mr. Hadl had served in the Kansas National Guard. He was a cabinetmaker and owned Hadl Custom Cabinetry from 1976 until his son took on the business in 1991. He had previously worked for Reuter Organ Co. and Douglas County Wood Products.

He married Vera McCrary on June 12, 1948, in Lawrence. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include three daughters, Peggy Shultz, Lawrence, Donna Field, Baldwin, and Patti Hadl, Lawrence; and eight grandchildren.

A son, Russell, died in 2001.

Family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at the mortuary.

The family suggests memorials to Douglas County Visiting Nurses Assn., Lawrence Humane Society or Central Methodist Church, sent in care of the mortuary.
