Clarence R. ‘Bob’ Eason

? Services for Clarence R. “Bob” Eason, 71, Tonganoxie, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Barnett Funeral Home, Oskaloosa. Inurnment will be at McLouth Cemetery.

Mr. Eason died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, at St. John Hospital, Leavenworth.

He was born July 6, 1931, in Newton, the son of Clarence and Ruby (Vesper) Eason. He had lived in Tonganoxie for 35 years. He graduated in 1949 from Newton High School and attended the University of Utah for three years.

Mr. Eason retired in 1994 from DeSoto’s Hercules Powder and Ordnance plant after 25 years of service as a process engineer.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Lake Perry Country Club and the U.S. Golf Assn.

He married Esther Alberta Robertson on May 15, 1973, in Miami, Okla. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Dale, Shawnee; two daughters, Margo Schlewitz, Crawfordsville, Ind., and Annie Smithey, Kansas City, Kan.; two stepdaughters, Mary Schwinn, Oskaloosa, and Linda Ashworth, Lawrence; two brothers, Stan, Marietta, Ga., and Tom, Cedar Park, Tex.; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
