Gloria Gean Maupin

Blue Springs, Mo. ? Services for Gloria Gean Maupin, 71, Independence, Mo., will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Blue Springs Chapel. Burial will be in Floral Hills East Memorial Gardens in Lee’s Summit.

Mrs. Maupin died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, at Independence Regional Health Center.

She was born Aug. 6, 1931, in Jackson County, the daughter of Lester and Hazel (Moore) Charles. She grew up in Independence and attended Northeast High School in Kansas City, Mo. She lived in Lone Jack from 1961 until 1994, when she returned to Independence.

Mrs. Maupin was a homemaker and drove a school bus for Lone Jack school district in the 1980s. She was involved in Parent-Teacher Assn. and Booster Club and was a member of Lone Jack Baptist Church.

She married Richard E. “Bud” Maupin on Sept. 8, 1950, in Jackson County. He died Jan. 16, 1988.

Survivors include two daughters, Kelly Russell, Lawrence, Kan., and Kimberly Bynum, Lone Jack; a sister, Georgia Hill, Independence; six grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

The family will receive friends from noon until service time Tuesday at the funeral chapel.
