Children in KU housing to be treated to party

Children living in Kansas University housing will be treated to a holiday party given by the KU Public Safety Office and Stouffer Neighborhood Assn.

The seventh annual party, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday in the Frontier Room of the Burge Union, will feature games, prizes and a visit from Santa Claus. Forty to 50 children who live with their families in Stouffer Place and Sunflower apartments are expected to attend.

Stouffer Place, 19th and Iowa streets, provides housing for married students and students with children. Sunflower Apartments, 11th and Missouri streets, offer housing for faculty, unclassified staff, postdoctoral fellows and visiting scholars.

Sorority to serve dinner

Members of the Sigma Kappa sorority at Kansas University will serve a holiday dinner Friday at the Salvation Army, 946 N.H.

Dennis Hill, the sororityâÂÂs chef, will prepare chili, cornbread, vegetables, chips, cheese and cookies. Sorority members will deliver the dinner at 9 p.m. to the Salvation Army, serve it and clean up after.
